The Gulf Coast region is prone to all types of extreme weather.

Most people automatically associate hurricanes with the Gulf Coast. However, they are just one threat.  Severe weather — including tornadoes — are also an issue for the Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and Florida.

In fact, a sizable chunk of Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama are part of Dixie Alley. All three of the aforementioned states have seen their fair share of tornadoes.
