Last Night’s New Orleans Tornado Preliminarily Rated an EF-3

According to a public information statement issued this afternoon by National Weather Service Weather Forecast Office New Orleans, last night’s New Orleans tornado has been given a preliminary rating of EF-3.

The statements says that “damage was most intense in Arabi and was rated there an EF-3.”

Furthermore, “the approximate 11 mile path of of the tornado extends from around Gretna (Jefferson Parish) to Arabi (St Bernard Parish) to New Orleans East (Orleans Parish)” per the statement.

Results of the entire survey are expected tomorrow.

In addition to the New Orleans tornado, there were many other tornado reports across Mississippi and Alabama yesterday, including a confirmed tornado that occurred in Baldwin County, AL last night.

The Baldwin County, AL tornado that touched down near Summerdale and tracked to Robertsdale has been given a preliminary rating of EF-1.
