Cold Front to Bring Below-Average Temperatures Next Week

Figure 1. Latest 6 – 10 day temperature outlook from the Climate Prediction Center, showing a high probability of below-average temperatures next week.

A cold is going to drop down into the Gulf Coast early next week.

This will likely allow for below-average temperatures (see figure 1).

It will still be hot. But, overall, temperatures should run a few degrees lower than normal.

With that being said, the front is going to slow/stall, meaning we will also be looking at a period of unsettled weather along the Gulf Coast.

However, depending on how far south the frontal boundary is able to progress, some areas (e.g north/central Alabama and Mississippi) will experience drier, more comfortable conditions.
