There is a threat for severe weather for parts of Texas, Louisiana and Mississippi this afternoon, overnight and into tomorrow morning.

A complex of storms should develop across Oklahoma/north Texas and Arkansas late this afternoon, and advance south and east overnight into tomorrow morning.

The Storm Prediction Center has outlined a level 3 (enhanced) risk area. Both a level 2 (slight) and level 1 (marginal) risk have also been defined, with the latter extending all the way to the coast.

Damaging, severe wind gusts will be the primary threat. That being said, the risk for tornado and hail is not zero.

With all that being said, how long the complex can hold together is uncertain, and will dictate the amount of southward progress it can make.
