A new severe thunderstorm watch has been issued for parts of east Texas and west Louisiana until 9 PM CDT.

The MCS we have been tracking is expected to track into the watch area later this afternoon and evening.

It will bring primarily a threat for damaging wind gusts. However, a tornado or two and hail are both also possible hazards.

We also note that some isolated cells are also starting to pop up ahead of the MCS, and could reach severe limits.
