Invest 93-L Could be Upgraded to Tropical Depression 11 later Today

Invest 93-L, an area of low pressure located just inland of Daytona Beach, FL that the National Hurricane Center has been monitoring for several days has become better organized this afternoon; and it is producing tropical storm force winds along Florida’s Northeast Coast.

Development odds

The National Hurricane Center is now considering upgrading invest 93-L to tropical depression 11 later this afternoon or evening as a result of it’s recent increase in organization.

In their 2:00PM EDT tropical weather outlook the National Hurricane Center gave 93-L a 40% chance of developing over the next 2 – 5 days.

Track

Invest 93-L (potentially TD-11) will is currently drifting to the northwest across Florida and should maintain it’s northwest track for the next several days.

Intensity

If 93-L is upgraded to tropical depression 11 it won’t have the opportunity to strengthen as it is inland.

Impacts

Regardless of development, heavy rain and gusty winds will spread across Central and Northern Florida this afternoon and into tonight.
